CSR Procurement Guidelines

I. Fair transactions and Ethics

Create in-house standards to prohibit matters such as bribery, and prevent transactions with antisocial or armed forces. Make sure to protect intellectual property rights.

1. Healthy Business

Create in-house rules and regulations that prohibit matters such as bribery, corruption, extortion and embezzlement, to prevent the receiving of improper benefits and advantage.
Prevent transactions with or funding to antisocial forces.
Ensure the confidentiality and anonymity of employees who blow the whistle and to protect their body and identity.

2. Information Disclosure

Offer us information about your company including occupational health and safety, environmental activities, business activities, organizational structure, financial status and performance and quality assurance system.

3. Respect for Intellectual Property Rights

Treat intellectual property rights with respect when transferring technology and know-hows.

4. Procurement of Conflict Minerals

Prevent trades in minerals or goods connected to armed conflicts, human rights abuses, environmental destruction, or interference with health and safety.

To make sure to use conflict-free minerals in the entire supply chain, please submit the survey and approval documents so that your commitment to the use of conflict-free minerals and your use of them are confirmed.

 
 

II. Environment

Make efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as to prevent environmental pollution and to reduce resource consumption.

1. Pollution Prevention and Resource Conservation

Prevent environmental pollution and conserve resources through activities such as production improvement, product design change, recycling and reusing.

2. Hazardous Substance Management

Identify hazardous substances, and make sure to manage and dispose the waste in accordance with laws and applicable regulations.

3. Exhaust, Wastewater and Waste Materials

Make efforts to reduce the environmental burden including wastewater and exhaust generated by production activities. Also, characterize and conduct monitoring evaluation of the environmental burden such as wastewater and exhaust gas when disposing them.

4. Energy Conservation and Greenhouse Gas Reduction

Make efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions strategically in the entire supply chain through risk management practices, and target setting and implementation in accordance with TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure). Keep records of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions collected from the companies and workplaces to minimize energy and greenhouse gas emissions. Take necessary measures and actions to minimize energy and greenhouse gas emissions.

Make efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the entire supply chain, and conduct emission monitoring and provide information on the monitoring results.

 
 

III. Human Rights and Labor

Respect the human rights and work toward the elimination of forced labor, child labor, and discrimination.

1. Respect for Human Rights.

Protect the human rights of all people involved in your company’s business activities to make it understood by the global society.
Ensure that employees’ working hours do not exceed the limits set by the law. Pay compensation in accordance with the law, including minimum wage, overtime pay, and employee benefits that should be offered.
Make sure to have no way of any types of harassment and mental or physical abuse.
Clearly define policies and procedures for disciplinary actions to be taken when an employee causes a problem.

2. Prohibit Forced or Compulsory Labor.

Eliminate forced or bonded labor (including debt-induced forced labor) in your employment practice.

3. Child Labor and Underage Labor

Eliminate child labor under any circumstances.
Ensure that all persons under the age of 18 who work for your company are not forced to do any work that could cause their poor health or safety, including night work and overtime.

 
 

IV. Health and Safety

Take safety measures when working in hazardous conditions, and give consideration to the work time and other factors when working in severe conditions.

1. Occupational Safety

Protect all persons at your company from all hazards (energy sources such as electricity, fire, vehicles, and fall hazards) through safety risk assessments and taking appropriate measures.
Prepare a system to track, control, and report on occupational accidents and disease prevention.

2. Consideration for Heavy Workload

Identify physically demanding tasks in all works performed at your company, and develop and implement corrective measures.

 
 

Ⅴ. Information Security

Comply with the personal information and information security laws, and make sure to manage confidential information.

1. Personal Information Protection

Comply with the privacy and information security laws and regulations when acquiring, storing, transmitting, sharing, and disposing personal information.

2. Prevention of Confidential Information Leak

Ensure the strict management of not only the information owned by the company but also information obtained from business partners and third parties and also of confidential information.

Make a medium to long-term business continuity plan.
